Shelf Space Expanded: VIBAe's New Chapter in Helsinki
When the space next door to us at Fredrikinkatu 22 became available, we jumped at the chance to get it. We could see it: just break the wall between and get more than double the space to showcase our shoes. The space had the same tiles as our current store, so the whole process was seamless. Well... as seamless as any renovation can be. Minna designed a beautiful custom bookshelf on the main wall, and now our magical Carbon Step™ insole finally has a place to show off.
"For the new space, I focused on the product first. Our Carbon Step™ insole box looks like a book, and that made me think of a library! The bookshelf I designed is the focal point of the new space, and I love it! I wanted to create an atmosphere where customers can relax, something harmonious, peaceful, and homely. Many customers have commented, ‘The feel of the store is so calming!’" says Minna.

Once Upon a Time, 25 Years Ago...
We've got some fantastic art on the walls, and behind each piece is a unique story. And there's a great story to be told about the amazing artist, Oda Ivanka Tšupukka.
More than 25 years ago, Oda was working as a casting agent and unknowingly set the stage for a real-life romance. She cast Kalle and Minna as a couple in a SunMaid Raisin commercial. There they were, Minna sitting on Kalle's lap, playfully feeding him raisins for the shoot. It was all just acting—or so they thought.
That commercial sparked a connection that has lasted to this day. So, if you think about it, without her, there wouldn't be a VIBAe! Isn’t it fitting then, that as we begin this new chapter of VIBAe, we do so with showcasing the art of the same person who helped start it all?
Our newly expanded store is more than just extra space—it’s a reflection of the journey we’ve been on and the relationships that define us. From the custom bookshelf to the connections sparked years ago, every detail tells a story. VIBAe is more than a shoe store; it’s a place where stories come together, and new chapters begin.
Our doors are open wider than ever, ready to welcome old friends and new faces into our growing tribe. Here’s to more stories, more connections, and many more steps together.
