Glad we didn’t listen

Glad we didn’t listen

They said pick a niche. We said… nah.

OPENING SCENE: The store has closed. Kalle and Minna are still there, not because they have to be, but because neither has moved. They're on the sofa, phones out, doing the very important work of scrolling.

KALLE: "You missed it this morning. The coolest grandpa came in with his grandson. Kid had been eyeing his ROMA mules for months. Even got the exact same pair. Cocoa Brown.”

MINNA (smiling at her phone): "Kid has great taste.”

KALLE: "And the last couple in? Both got HANKO boots, in different colors."

MINNA: "Loved them, they were so funny!"

KALLE: "Maija posted something on WhatsApp. Michelle from Iowa, listen. She says for ten years she kept buying shoes that felt fine at first… then a few weeks later, she couldn’t wear them anymore. Every time. After ordering ours, she hasn’t worn anything else. Not one day. Says we’re not just making shoes. We’re changing people’s lives.”

MINNA: "Aww."

A beat.

MINNA: "Remember we were told we can't be everything to everyone. Pick a niche."

KALLE: "Glad we didn't listen."

MINNA (exhaling): "You never listen."

KALLE: “But now we’ve got teenagers and grandpas choosing the same pair. Couples doing their version of matching. Hollywood actors wearing them out on a random Tuesday. People dressing them up for galas. And people with foot problems who’ve finally found something their feet can actually live in… We contain multitudes!”

MINNA: "The shoes do."

KALLE: "Same thing."

MINNA: "Everything to everyone."

KALLE: "Or exactly what each person needed."
