THE FAMOUS FRANK
OPENING SCENE: Anna calls Minna. She is bursting with excitement.
ANNA: “Minna. You will not believe who just emailed us.”
MINNA: “Who?”
ANNA: “A crew member from a very famous singer's team!”
ANNA (confessional): “We respect our customer privacy like doctors respect their HIPAA. So let’s just call this very famous singer… Frank.”
ANNA: “Can you believe it? SOMEONE WHO KNOWS FRANK! He says he wears our ROMA's all the time when he travels with Frank. Says everyone in the crew keeps asking where he got them, and he wants to surprise the crew with pairs of their own.”
MINNA: “This is wild. F R A N K might end up wearing our shoes!”
ANNA: “I’m gonna start listening to Frank non-stop now.”
MINNA: “Me too. Wear our shoes—get my attention.”
SCENE TWO
Minna calls Tammy in Malibu.
MINNA (bursting): “Tammy! You will not believe this. We need to send ROMAs for Franks crew. FRANK!!! They are touring the US at the moment. Can you help shipping the shoes to their hotel?
TAMMY: “Oh, Frank. Yeah, he Airbnb’d at our house once. We saw a photo of him playing guitar in our garden.”
(Silence.)
MINNA: “Erm... WHAT?”
TAMMY: “Yeah. Super nice guy. Used our barbecue.”
CLOSING SCENE
ANNA: “Did the package get there?”
MINNA: “Yep. Delivered. All confirmed.”
(They sit in stunned silence.)
ANNA: “He played guitar in their garden.”
MINNA: “And used their barbecue.”
ANNA: “Imagine living in star-studded Malibu where something like this is just a regular Tuesday.”
MINNA: “Yeah. Here in Helsinki, we’ll still be talking about it next year.”
