A First Look at the TREK outsole
OPENING SCENE: Helsinki store. Kalle is on the phone to Ludo in Malibu. A pair of new STURGIS boots on the counter. He picks one up and turns it over.
KALLE: “Ludo. I can’t stop looking at this sole.”
LUDO: “The TREK. Natural rubber. Lugs all the way round the edge.”
KALLE: “And it’s still soft.”
LUDO: “That’s what I like about them. They look tough, but they’re still VIBAe.”
KALLE: “Ice, slush, sleet, snow, and whatever fresh disaster Finnish weather comes up with next. You just walk… I mean TREK!”
LUDO: “Works here too. Snowy slopes. Bike trails. Hiking up the canyon. Up and down, they just hold on.”
KALLE: “On a boot named after the biggest motorcycle rally in the world.”
LUDO: “And it’s almost here.”
KALLE: “Almost. Excited to see how it will sell.”
KALLE: “So. The HELSINKI Shearling.”
LUDO: “Should we?”
KALLE: “Winter boot. Yes, let’s TREK it too!”
LUDO: “Done.”
KALLE: “That was easy.”
LUDO: “We've been doing this for six years. Either we're getting good at this or we've completely lost our minds.”
KALLE: “Why not both?”
The STURGIS is on its way.
