One of the good natural qualities of wool is its resistance to dirt. Typically, dirt that sticks to wool socks comes off quite well, especially when they are dry, and often just shaking and airing them out is enough care.
However, for SAANA wool socks that are in active use, it's a good idea to wash them occasionally, either by hand or in the washing machine. A 30-degree machine wash with a short spin cycle works excellently for our wool socks. We recommend using a pH-neutral detergent (pH 7).
When washing by hand, the washing and rinsing water should be lukewarm, below 40 degrees Celsius. Large fluctuations between hot and cold water temperatures, as well as vigorous rubbing, can cause the wool to shrink.
It's a good practice to shape the SAANA wool socks when they are damp and dry them at a low temperature. We do not recommend drying wool socks at temperatures exceeding 70 degrees Celsius, such as on a hot radiator, in a sauna, or too close to a fire. Thanks to its breathability, wool dries fairly quickly even without high heat.
