Its long, uniform fibers crystallize under strain, letting the sole grip and conform to uneven ground rather than just sit on top of it. It also holds its traction in cold, wet conditions far better than synthetic soles, the same reason natural rubber is the standard for winter tires.

Your boots are crafted from beeswax-treated suede, a naturally water-repellent leather that develops a rich, worn-in character over time.

Care: Brush gently with a soft-bristle or horsehair brush. Let mud or wet dirt dry fully before brushing, never wipe while wet. Wipe light surface grime with a dry cloth.

Water & stains: Light rain won't damage these boots, the beeswax finish sheds moisture naturally. If soaked, air dry away from direct heat and stuff with paper to hold shape. For salt stains, dab (don't rub) with a cloth dampened in equal parts water and white vinegar, then let dry and brush.

Restoring the finish: Re-wax every few months with regular wear using a beeswax-based leather balm. Warm the wax slightly before applying for even coverage, then buff with a soft brush to restore texture.

Storage: Keep away from direct heat, radiators, and sunlight. Use cedar shoe trees between wears. Store in a breathable dust bag, not sealed plastic. 

A note on wax bloom: A light white haze may appear on the surface over time, this is the natural beeswax finish, not damage. Buff gently with a soft cloth, using light heat if needed, to restore the original luster.

VIBAe shoes are handmade from vegetable-tanned, chrome-free leather. It stretches naturally as you wear it and shapes itself to your feet, so we recommend picking a perfect fit rather than leaving extra toe room, the way you might with stiffer, chrome-tanned leather.

Use our Size Chart or the Size Advisor on each product page to find your size. If you already know your size in another brand, the Advisor converts it directly. Your regular shoe size is usually a close match if your measurements are accurate.

Don't worry if your new shoes feel close, almost like a well-fitted glove, when you first put them on. That's how they should feel. The leather stretches naturally with wear, so there's no need to size up for extra toe space.

Once your shoes arrive: you can double check the fit. Take out the insole and place your foot on it. If all your toes sit neatly within its outline, the size is right, and the shoe will relax and stretch where needed as you wear it.

We don't make half sizes. Go one size up if you're between sizes, prefer wearing thicker socks, or just like a looser feel.
